The Forbidden Journey

You can wait in line forever for The Forbidden Journey, like we did the first time, or you can be smart and use the single rider line. But to use the single rider line, you have to be able to find it first. If you don't have anything to put in a locker you just stay to the left going in the main entrance and take the stairs going off to the left. Don't wait behind anyone, just walk around them. Ask someone who works there if you have trouble finding it. You will miss part of the castle if you take this route, but your wait time is usually 5-10 minutes compared to the 45 minutes to 2 hours you would spend in the regular line.

Go straight through and to the left for the single rider line if you have nothing to put in a locker. You can't ride with anything, so get a locker now (straight through and to the right for lockers).

The regular line weaves around and through the castle. It's really long, but worth it at least once to see everything.

The sorting hat

Dumbledore's office. You can see in either line, but if you are in the regular line you have more time to look around.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione talk to you while you wait in the regular line.

Stoked to be at Hogwarts Castle.

So was it worth it to come all the way to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter? You bet! Let me just say waiting in line for an hour and a half the first night was hard because we were all pretty tired by then. But, when we sat down in our seats and the ride took off we were very very impressed.

I will never forget riding The Forbidden Journey that first night. It's unlike ANY amusement park ride I've ever experienced. I don't want to give anything away because not knowing exactly what will happen is half the fun. But I will say this, I truly feel like I was in the Harry Potter books and movies. The last day we were there we used the single rider line several times. I don't recommend riding The Forbidden Journey more than twice in a row. It will make you sick to your stomach, so try and space it out.

My kids want to go there so badly and I haven't really jumped on board - I might have just changed my mind! That looks SO COOL!

You should go! Even The Greek loved it and he hasn't read any of the books, but is a big fan of the movies. Islands of Adventure is perfect for teens and tweens.
