A rite of passage in Boy Scouts is drinking Tiger's Blood before you move up to the Webelos den. It is tradition and the boys reveal in its ceremony. In other words, they think it's freakin' awesome, except when they're actually drinking it.
It disappeared for a while in our troop. Perhaps someone thought it was cruel. But to the delight of the boys who have tasted it's spicy goodness, they brought it back. Just in time for The Kid.
The Kid received his Bear Badge in November and moved ceremoniously up to the Webelos den. He was the first, along with his friend, to be tested once again. He proved to be courageous and delighted the crowd with a dry heave after the first gulp.
