Happy Missionaries

Elder G, Elder S, Elder G, Elder T and other Elders
We found so many awesome people this week and the work is moving along quite nicely! J received the priesthood yesterday and is going to have a temple recommend interview to go do baptisms this Saturday! Woo hoo! We are some very happy missionaries. We took him out to help us contact a bunch of people in the streets and he loved it. Definitely an amazing life long friend. His potential is soaring! The time is flying by as well, I can't believe October is already coming to a close. We're getting pumped for these next three holidays coming up. October, November and December are the best.

Now let's talk about a miracle.. I'll start from the very beginning. One day, Elder G and I were flipping through some records of less active members and we found one with a direction to pass by. We went but that person didn't live there, actually a recently returned Romanian missionary from our mission lived there. She was really nice and gave a reference of a family she had been teaching during her mission that still lived really close. We went to visit the family and had set up multiple appointments to meet with them. Every appointment had fallen through. We decided one day to randomly pass by to see if they were home. The father was there and we had a good 15 minute conversation with him by the door to the building. He was telling us how soon they would be moving to Chile. During that conversation a young couple in their 30's passed us to go into the building. They said, "Hi." They went in, the door shut, we continued our conversation and then the door opened again. They came and asked us, "What time is church?" They are members from Bolivia who had been less active for 2 years. They invited us to come over a few days later so we went. We shortly found out that they had stayed as active as they possibly could without going to church. By that I mean they had kept reading the Book of Mormon, said family prayers, watched conference from home, and much more. They had stopped going to church because they weren't married and couldn't participate as much as they would have liked. Now they're married and ready to come back. They expressed to us how much they desire to be sealed together as an eternal family (Father, mother, Son and Daughter). They told us the first step to reactivation for them is to "Talk to the Missionaries!" and they did! They are AWESOME and have such a desire to come back. Their two little kids are the cutest chubbiest little Bolivian kids you will ever see. Their son is 9 years old and they want us to start teaching him so that he can be baptized. The Lord totally GUIDED us to them. It is absolutely amazing the process of how we found them. I know that the Lord guides us to do great things. I'm so grateful to be a part of this marvelous work.

I've noticed how so many young people here in Spain are opening their hearts up to the Gospel. It is so hard for the youth here in Spain. Parental influences are very poor, committing sin is normal and is viewed as the only good thing life has to offer, the reality of a "loving Heavenly Father" has been destroyed. The world is distancing itself so far from Heavenly laws. Yet I am amazed to find extraordinary youth here and there throughout Spain. Their interest has definitely increased as the need and desire for "the real truth and answers" has exploded. They are the Future of the Church.

As I was writing a letter to my brother this week, I turned to the scriptures and found something that really jumped off the page to me. It's found in Mosiah 2: 21-22 and it says,

21 "I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another - I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.

22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you."

All that he requires us to do is to keep His commandments. That's all. He does everything for us and for our own benefit gives us commandments. If they are obeyed, we will receive blessings.
I know that this is true because He has said it. I trust Him with everything I have. I love Him and I know that He loves all of you.
